Tour East Australia was officially launched last night in Sydney
Sydney, 22 November 2007At the launch function, 130 invited guests were told of the future plans for the new company and how it fits within the Tour East Group. Also present at the function was Mr Dennis Choo, Group Managing Director for the Tour East Group.
Tour East Australia is a joint venture between the Qantas Group and Holiday Tours and Travel based in Singapore.
CEO Simon Bernardi said the Tour East Group was formed in Singapore over 30 years ago and has built up a reputation for customer service excellence in the industry. He added that with eight offices throughout Asia, it is a pleasure to be able to add Australia to that list.
Tour East Australia demonstrates the ongoing commitment and confidence both Qantas and Tour East have in the inbound Australian market.
The company provides land content including sightseeing tours and accommodation for packaging by travel companies worldwide.
This year the company will handle bookings for in excess of 100,000 customers, Bernardi said.
The MICE unit will begin operations in the next 2 – 3 weeks and will offer a “one stop shop” solution to customers.
The company launched its official website last Friday www.toureast.com.au and this will be available in Japanese language in the next few months.
Last night also saw the introduction of the company’s first City sightseeing guide, “Sightseeing Sydney”, offering sightseeing and activity options for visitors to Sydney. Guides will be progressively developed for all major tourist destinations in Australia.
A Japanese version of the guide will be released shortly.
